My initial review of the album proved to be harsh. I was not a fan of the album at all and only liked a few songs on the project at best. I have since given the project a few more play-throughs and concluded that I was a little too harsh when coming up with my initial thoughts.
After the first week of 21 Savages' 10th studio album, I can conclude that the album is just “alright”; Nothing new or groundbreaking with this album. It just feels like another 21 album. The album definitely left fans wanting more and I don’t blame them. WE WANT MORE 21!!
As we’ve seen, 21 Savage talks about the same repetitive topics over and over again. Songs like Dangerous feat. Lil Durk and Nee-Nah feel as if he is just talking about events that were told to him. Now the songs weren’t horrible by no means. The songs had great beats and the features were quite enjoyable.
This leads me to my next point in that the album had some really good instrumentals and features that did their THING. Songs like “pop ur shit”, “dangerous”, “nee-nah”, “prove it”, and “just like me” had really solid features. We always love hearing Travis Scott deliver some real classic rap flows and Summer Walker floating on “prove it” with her soft, but strong tones.
21 let a few fans down by providing the same flows to every song. You can move one verse to a different song and it would provide the same substance. We want to hear ISSA ALBUM versatility again. I want each song to feel different, but cohesive when you listen to the entirety of the album. As other fans have stated, his sound has just grown stale and feels subpar against the competition.
Overall I can’t hate on the project too much. The album had some memorable features and beats that sold the “American Dream”. My overall review of this album is a strong 7.4/10. I wish I could give it a higher score, but I just can’t. I don’t know what I would have wanted to hear from 21, but I definitely would have wanted to hear more growth within his craft.

TLDR; I was too harsh on my initial review and have come to a new conclusion that the album is a solid 7.4/10. We want more from 21, but he refuses to adapt to times and change his flows.
